Hi everyone, The second Newsletter of De Suikertuin of 2010 contains information about our new menu, about the Animal Rights Aruba foundation, our charity of this quarter, about George, our tremendous parking lot attendant and more.
First of all, our new menu will be out shortly, fresh from the printer’s office. Then you will be able to order one of our five breakfast specials that vary from Dutch-style to Pampering. This Pampering Breakfast is a great idea for a birthday gift – the best thing being that you can enjoy your gift at the same time! Several new lunch options will surely capture your attention as well. Please try them and let us know what you think; any criticism is welcome.
The Animal Rights Aruba (ARA) foundation is very happy with its election as the charity of the quarter. There is a new board with a super long `to-do’ list, but everyone is enthusiastic to tackle the job. The ARA hopes to get more volunteers, so if you would like to dedicate a few hours every week to taking care of the animals, the ARA would be very grateful indeed. Also, the ARA takes care of a number of lovely dogs that are ready for adoption. They vary from puppies to mature dogs. Every dog has been spayed or neutered (or will be) and has had its shots, so you are getting a healthy animal when you select one of these shelter dogs. Please, if you are thinking about getting a dog, think of the ARA dogs.
And now on to George, our lovely parking lot attendant. You can find him inside the booth at the Brenchie’s parking lot, where our customers receive free parking with their stamped ticket. Just park your car, wave to George and shout: `De Suikertuin’ and he will reward you with a beaming smile. George (70) used to work at Lago; after his retirement, he wanted to stay active, so he has kept on working. By the way, George would like to take this opportunity to let the ladies know that he is a bachelor!
Last but not least: Willeke celebrated her birthday on January 27. Of course, that was a perfect opportunity to take a picture of Willeke with her friends and staffers. In the morning there were presents, coffee, and cake. The cake was delicious, by the way: home-made carrot cake courtesy of chef Marjory and the sterling silver necklace and bracelet inlaid with amethyst and mother-of-pearl from Beauty and the Beast were a big hit with birthday girl Willeke.
This is all for now; we hope you will have a great time at the carnival. Enjoy yourself!
