Hello, dear patrons of De Suikertuin,
It’s high time for another Newsletter that will keep you up to speed about everything that is going on here in the Wilhelminastraat.
First of all, we wish to thank all of you for your continued visits to De Suikertuin. Although business might be flagging in countries all over the world due to the economic crisis, we are still smiling, as you may have noticed. We are doing fine, and this is thanks to you. Masha danki!
In the meantime, the second of our Discussion Nights has taken place. It was a fabulous evening with a lively discussion, led flawlessly by Ellen Bruggemans, whose impromptu performance was astounding. Well done, Ellen! The third evening of our series has been totally different: well-known osteopath Anton Isaac spoke about health, diet fads, and healthy living. There were about 25 people present for this interesting and sometimes hilarious lecture. We learned a lot about the functioning of the body and the way food is digested. We hope Anton will be back soon for more!
Further news: our new menu is coming up: we shall be adding several salads, new sandwiches, and other favorites, so keep your eyes peeled. Breakfast will be in a starring role: choices are between a luxury breakfast complete with croissants and mimosas, an American breakfast, a Dutch breakfast with an omelet and cuts of meat and lots more. The new menu will shortly be posted on our new site (www.desuikertuin.com).
Our daily specials will continue, of course. You probably know already that part of the proceeds of our specialists will go to the Autism Foundation of Aruba, a very worthy charity. The Arion Wine Company has jumped in as well and donates part of its wine-by-the-glass special to this cause as well. Photo shows Monique Kuiperi of the Autism Foundation handing the awareness bracelets to De Suikertuin’s excellent staffers. In the meantime, a cheque has gone to the Ban Uni Man pa Cria Nos Muchanan foundation, our first charity of our Special for a Cause. Mr. John Fun and Arion’s Martrude were present on the occasion.
And Christmas is coming, with all the cheer, fun and hassle surrounding it. This may be a time when we can be of service to you, taking care of your Christmas breakfasts, brunches, lunches, office parties, cocktail parties or high teas inside De Suikertuin or in the garden. Caterings at your home or on location also belong to the possibilities. More information about the various options and prices is posted on our website. And as a gift idea for Christmas: may we suggest a De Suikertuin Gift Certificate? Photos show us in a creative mood, painting, spraying and cutting our own Christmas decorations.
And now we wish to be the first (probably the very, very first, as it is still really early!) to wish you Happy Holidays. A wonderful Christmas and all the best for a healthy, prosperous and ridiculously happy 2010 from
Willeke & Gaston
